Auld Lang Syne, My Dear

The New Year is here!

Toot!  *clink* Muah!

We had an absolute blast.  It was our first party as a family.  I know that sounds strange but it was the first time most of our children were old enough to recognize what was happening.  We took full advantage.

I found this amazing idea on Pinterest.  Big surprise, since I am beginning to believe all of life’s questions can be solved on Pinterest.

We blew up balloons and popped them on the hour.  Inside each of the balloons was an activity.  We wrote family resolutions.  We had an oreo eating competition.  My tummy still aches from that one.  We danced, we played hide and seek.  We watched are boys slowly nod off and this morning they came to my bed wondering if we popped the last balloon.

Of course not!  They popped the last one this morning.  Happy New Year!

Finally, I sang a little Auld Lang Syne to end the evening.

Thank you all for being a beautiful part of my 2011.  This space is therapy, laughter, reflection and solidarity for me.  I hope that you continue your journey with fortitude and optimism.  There is much light at the end of our tunnels.  I can see it.  Grab all the good you can and savor it.

Yours truly,

PS – I am hoping to do some Vlogs this year and this was my first attempt.  A little awkward.  I am sure I will get better.
