It has been some time since I last posted any shoes on The Mother Flippin’ Fan Page or here, for that matter.
I have a closet full of high heels for two reasons.
- I love them.
- I love them very much.
My love has turned into an overabundance of shoes I cannot wear every day for three reasons.
- High heels make one’s feet, ankles and calves very tight and susceptible to injury.
- I avoid injury at all cost.
- The last thing my knees want to see after an intense roller derby practice is a pair of high heels.
I have enough. More than enough, actually. It’s time to stop. I cancelled my Shoedazzle account.
Okay, so I placed it on hold.
OKAY! So, I just don’t shop there every month. :)
I have found something else you might love.
It’s called Sevenly.
“One week. One cause.
For every purchase, we give $7 to this week’s charity.”
You guessed it. Every week, is a new cause. I have purchased two shirts thus far. The proceeds of which will go toward supporting survivors of domestic abuse and homeless children. The latter reads “Love the Lost”. A statement I believe in, identify with and advocate for daily.
Check out the photos of their super clever packaging in this photo gallery.
I cannot afford a t-shirt every week. I can’t do it every month. However, I think Sevenly has changed my addiction. Actually, Sevenly has combined both of my addictions while feeding my thirst for learning about the good being done in the world.
Every week, not only can you help a different cause, you can like them or follow them and learn about them too!
I don’t know about you but every time I see someone changing lives, fighting poverty, ministering to the sick, freeing slaves, curing disease or cleaning water, I feel less alone and more loved. I can see the net held beneath myself by a community of people committed to serving others and I grab hold to that rope.
We all belong to each other.
